When nits are first laid in the hair they are almost microscopic.

They need 5-7 days to grow to maturity and then we can remove them from your hair.

How Long Will My Appointment Take?

Your quick and effective treatment really depends on two factors:

Hair-length, and Level of infestation.

We estimate anywhere from-

  • 30 min-1 Hr for hair with a mild case. (1-10 bugs)

  • 1 Hr- 1 1/2 Hr for a moderate case. (10-30 bugs)

  • 1 1/2 Hour-2+ Hrs for a severe infestation. (30+ bugs)

Typically, it is common to see mild to moderate cases.

For extremely thick, long and/or curly hair add 15-30 min to this rough estimate.

The Lice Eradication Process

STEPS OF THE TREATMENT

Do I Really Need a Follow-Up Appointment?

Yes. Nits are incredibly tiny! And even the most diligent of removal techniques cannot guarantee a 100% eradication on the first application. To ensure that your family is lice-free it is necessary to schedule the follow-up 5-7 days post initial treatment, to rid the hair of any eggs that were too tiny to get rid of at the initial treatment. The follow-up treatment is typically completed in half the time of the initial appointment.
